There is no doubt that America is divided. Our souls are in despair over the breakup of our country. We feel as though there is nothing we can do to right the ship, so to speak. Patriots thinks to themselves, “what can I do to help get us out of this mess?” Will we ever get back to loving one another, and quit taking ourselves so seriously? Will we ever be normal again? The answer is probably not, because the immorality and corruption has reached critical mass. God is judging America, and He is starting with us Christians. We have been woefully negligent in given Him praise or gratitude for the blessings He has bestowed upon us already. We have become very arrogant and turned our back on Him. So He has given us over to our lusts. We have cast Him aside like a worn out garment. Yet God is merciful, compassionate and full of ever lasting loving kindness. He longs for us to call upon Him for help. Yet, in order to show our sincerity of purpose we have to sacrifice. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, and a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Now is the time to sacrifice and give our time toward things that will endure. We have to start taking concrete actions instead of just giving lip service and voicing our indignation about everything. Not only should we be changing our behavior to one of more humility and compassion with forgiveness toward our fellow Americans, but we should also be taking action and not just sitting idle and doing nothing. We all can participate. When anyone sees an evil, and does something about it, that righteous action glorifies God. That is what Jesus has called us to do. By doing that which is righteous (means to do the right thing) we glorify Him. There are a myriad of ways to glorify God.
Now you might not be ready for the example that follows however if you stop and think about it, it really is a way to glorify God. Especially if it brings about a righteous result. If a thousand people wrote similar letters every time an injustice pops up its ugly head, we could turn America around. The following letter is a practical example of what can be done by any one of us at any time. Instead of complaining to people that have no power, let your voice be heard by those who can effect change.. It is our Constitutional God given right. Let us exercise that God given right. If we don’t we risk loosing our freedom.
The subject matter will become apparent when you read the letter. Note: I mailed this letter to Senator Graham’s reelection campaign committee. I know from past experience politicians do take note when you write them letters. Also by posting as a blog article, even more people have the potential to see what Senator Graham is doing or not doing. That’s the intent.
BEGIN LETTER:
To: Senator Lindsey Graham
I have long been (over 50 years) a supporter of the Republican Party. I generally vote a straight party line when voting. However, because of their lack of conviction to do the right thing, which seemingly is intrenched and prevalent among members of both houses of government, before I cast my vote for them, I temper my vote and scrutinize each candidate’s view as to how they stand on various issues. It has become glaringly evident to me that all politicians, (without exception) regardless of party, seek first to maintain their position of power above all else. Even if it means throwing the Constitution of the United States under the bus which is what you have done, Senator.
Recently President Trump called on you to call former president Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden before your committee to question them to determine the extent of their complicity in the so called “Obamagate.” I am referring to the possible treason, sedition or an outright coup attempt on their part against a duly elect sitting President. Your reply to the President was that you would not go there. You claim it would be setting precedent. I ask you Mr. Graham, did you not swear an oath to uphold the Constitution? Do you believe the rule of law is for everyone? If your answer is “yes” to both questions, then in that, you will not do what you swore to do, you have in effect set precedent and put all Presidents (present and future) above the law; and for that reason, I can not and indeed will not support you in any way.
Is the law what you say it is, Senator? If that’s your attitude the very thought is repugnant. When the amount of evidence is preponderance and over whelming and you then willfully set it aside, why do you ask of me to send money to support your campaign to keep you in office?. Do you think I’m that stupid?
If you’re not going to do what you were elected to do, may I suggest that you resign your committee chair and let another take your place who will. That would be the honorable and morally right thing to do.
Senator Graham, you demonstrate by your actions, the very reason why Americans like myself no longer trust you, our representatives, or our Government. “If you can’t stand the heat Senator, get out of the kitchen.”
There is not a whole lot I can do, except to write to you and express my opinion, and withhold any monies I would have donated to your campaign, which I am doing. Yet, I will hasten to remind you, there is One who sees, and He judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart, and He is no respecter of persons. He is not impressed by your Senatorial Chairmanship position. I hope you will have a good answer for why you feel you have the authority to nullify the Constitution and the rule of Law and that your answer satisfies His justice. Otherwise, I would not want to be in your shoes. Let me tell you about His law. He says: “Woe unto them that swear a vow and not keep it.”
When others, more righteous than you, do expose beyond a shadow of doubt the complicity of the former president, vice president, and all their cohorts of their overt treasonous attempt to overthrow a duly elected President of the United States, history will then record how vapid you were in your response and the honor for doing what is right will be theirs.
Senator Graham, It is not too late. I appeal to you to do the right thing. Allow the law to work, do your duty, else your legacy will be one of dishonor and ineptitude. What say you Senator? God is listening and so are the American people.
