Gullible: The fact of being too willing to believe or accept what other people tell you, and therefore of being easily tricked.
The Pre-Tribulation paradiam is another of The Father of Lies, lie. If Satan can deceive a person that is on the fence about salvation into thinking that there will be a second chance at salvation (when there is not) then those who fall for the lie, and are not saved, think to themselves that if the rapture does occur and they are left behind, will admit they were wrong, and conclude they will get another chance! To them, the pretrib rapture point of view allows them another chance!
The truth is Satan will have been successful at deceiving them causing them to be eternally lost; or, belivers that believe in the pre-trib paradiam will not prepare for the Tribulation and thus will become susceptible to the deception that the Bible says will be rampant in the tribulation, even to the point they might be deceived into receiving the mark of the beast!
The following is my argument to refute this point of view. I truly believe those who hold this view are the beloved of the Lord have been tricked into believing a lie in order to keep them from preparing for the tribulation or worse yet, from salvation.
I call it the ILW argument. Imminency, Left Behind, and Wrath
Note: If the reader is not elementary schooled in Bible study, and does not possess a basic understand of the scriptures, then this post will pose some difficulty to understand.
THE IMMINENCY Argument.
- Jesus’s warned His followers to stay alert as to His coming. The example of a thief breaking into the house at a time the owner was not expecting. He used the example to explain that not even He knew the day nor hour of His return. He said the Father alone was the only One who knew when He would return. The point being, if one has to been warned to be on alert for a thief coming to break into your home, it might imply imminency, however if the breakin is delayed it becomes not imminent. Which is the case we see today.
- In Mathew 24. Jesus gave a list of reasons about events that must take place before His return. The question one has to ask himself, is how then could His return be imminent if other events have to happen first before He can return? One example, Jesus warned us to flee to the hills when we see the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy place spoken of by the prophet Daniel. This points directly to the 70th week prophecy which is still future. If this event has to happen before his return how can His return be imminent? Furthermore, The Abomination of desolation is to take place in the Holy of Holies in the Temple in Jerusalem. That Temple (third temple to be built) does not exist today. It (second Temple) was destroyed in 70 AD. Therefore, the event is a future event. Until the third Temple is built there can be no return! Indeed, Jesus said when you see the event (abomination of desolation) “your redemption draweth nye”, which means His return cannot be imminent because the Temple does not yet exist. Moreover, if the Rapture were to happen pretrib and some were left behind it would make God a liar! And God is not a liar!
THE LEFT BEHIND Argument.
1. Jesus said: “of all the Father gives Me (referring to believers) I lose none, because no one is able to snatch them out of my Fathers hand.” The word “all” is inclusive of all believers thru the ages and includes those additionally headed into the Tribulation.
2. If Pretribulation is true then those martyrs mentioned in the fifth Seal should theoretically be those who are left behind. However, the scripture speaks clearly of the martyrs coming out of the tribulation, which means the church is emphatically IN the tribulation and has not been raptured!
3. Jesus said when He comes it will be at an hour when you think not. As a Thief in the night. That is what is depicted in Rev:14, where the scripture points out that there is total darkness on the earth. The sun and moon do not give their light. Pre-tribers supposes because of imminency the earth will be in a “normal”state, as it has always been exhibiting day and night perpetually.
4. PreTribers like to point to the martyrs mentioned in Rev 20 “that come to life and reign with Christ for a thousand years.” They assert those martyrs are those that were left behind and became martyred implying a second resurrection, which in fact are not a different group, but are the resurrected body of believers in Christ with their new bodies. John is simply seeing them when this happens, otherwise, to in-fur that these are of a different group would imply there are two resurrections for believers, and thus a second chance for salvation. The Bible NEVER in-furs, suggests, or implies there will be a second chance for redemption!
5. The Pre Trib point of view invalidates John 3:16. That is to paraphrase: “whosoever will may believe on Christ as Savior or parrish.” So, those that choose not too, are lost eternally, and their fate is eternal dame-nation and torment. God proclaimed this in no uncertian terms. Therefore the “so” in so loved the world is conditional. Believe or parrish! For God to be fair and just, He determines that no man gets a second chance at salvation. It would be unfair and unjust for God to save those who initially rejected Christ that were allegedly left behind and them allow them a second chance due to their dire circumstances.
There MUST be an end point to this warning, that is John 3:16; and there is. The end point is when the fullness of the gentiles has come in. Paul spoke of this in Romans chapter 11, specifically verse 25. and called it a Mystery. Indeed, a Mystery that pre-tribulation believers miss. They never quote this scripture in support of their view. It is in my view THE most conclusive evidence agains the PreTribulation point of view. Paul admonishes believers “lest we become wise in our own estimation“ that they (Jews) are the root and we are grafted in. We (The Church) have not replaced the Jews but God through Jesus has made the two groups into one. This is because “the fullness of the Gentiles is NUMBER specific. It is the converted GENTILES that become the Church! The “fullness of the gentiles” is a term that describes all believers in Christ be they Jew or gentile. Only God knows when and who the last person to be saved will be saved. To repeat; the fullness of the gentiles is number specific, and not time dependent! That is why no man can know the day or hour. Moreover the prophecy says “they (Jews) will look upon Him whom they pierced” The Rapture happens over Jerusalem, and the statement “every eye” will see Him may well refur only to those in the vicinity of Jerusalem and NOT to the whole world, just as a person relates as a witness to an accident that: “everyone saw it happen.” The Jews do not partake of the Rapture! They however, witness it. It is why they mourn grievously. This Mystery implies, God will use the rapture as a sign to them that they were wrong about Jesus being The Son of God-their King! They missed the Kingdom ment for them! God is going to use the Rapture to bring Salvation to the Jews because it states: “The Deliverer comes from Zion. Thus all Israel will be saved.”
5. The 5th Seal martyrs that are shown under the alter in heaven are of the dead in Christ which are to be raised first according to the prophecy in 1st Thessalonians 4:16. The dead in Christ are all inclusive from Stephen who was stoned to death in the 1st century, until the last one that is murdered in the tribulation.
THE WRATH Argument.
- Pre-Tribulation believers always like to quote Pauls teaching “we (Christians) are not appointed unto Wrath. They are quite right. That is exactly what Revelation teaches. Persecution yes, but not wrath. That is why we are exhorted to perservere to the end. The Rapture is depicted in Revelation 14:16 as Jesus coming on a cloud in total darkness, has a scythe in His hand reaping the harvest BEFORE the Bowls of Wrath are poured out. Somehow, pre-tribulation believers miss this point! Additionally, Christians are likened unto wheat. Confirm by the parable of the wheat and tares. Jews on the other hand are likened unto a grapevine and their fruit is worthless grapes. Remember the parable of the vineyard that produces worthless fruit (grapes) that Jesus pointed out to the Pharisees. (They plotted to kill Him after that! ) Jesus then sends forth His angles, also with a scythe, to reap the grapes of wrath that are thrown into the wine press of the WRATH of God. Rapture first then wrath.
- It should be noted that when God brought His Wrath on the earth via the flood He did not remove the righteous from earth. He instead provided a means of escape! Same case for His Wrath on Sodom and Gomorra, He removed Lot to a safer location. he did not remove Lot from the earth. This has always been the case in the Old Testament with the exception of Enoch and Elijah. Note: Wrath was not being poured out when they were taken up. In the Christian era, God has yet to use Wrath on the world preferring instead to use His weapons of indignation, ie. Judgement’s to get His point across.
There are more examples, however these are definitive and should PROVE beyond question that the Pre-Tribulation point of view is in error.
I suspect after reading this post, there will be those who will deny my point of view in spite of the evidence. Learned men will not change their view because of pride, after all the Bible says knowledge puffs up. Moreover, who wants to say: “I was wrong.” I am sadden by that prospect, however, for me, I feel I have been obedient to God in that I have warned some of the coming tribulation and the need to prepare. So be it. Even so come Lord Jesus!
